Suspect Number 4: Dance on Film

C-12 Dance Theatre have finished filming their debut Dance on Film "Suspect Number 4".

The process has been inspired by Merce Cunningham and the concept was created and choreographed by Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster. Based purely on chance! An advert calling on all performers went out Wed Aug 3rd 2011 in the evening, the deadline of interest was Aug 8th 5pm. Over 30 people applied to be in the film. 6pm on Aug 8th 7 names were pulled from a hat and announced as the performers of "Suspect Number 4" , C-12 Dance on Film. Annie's concept was based around Cluedo. 2 Location's were found, Eastbury Manor House in East London and Annie's father's house, Paul Foster in North London. Both locations had between them, the 9 rooms in Cluedo, Library, Kitchen, Hall, Billiard Room, Dinning Room, Lounge, Study, Ball Room and Conservatory. Each performer pulled out from a hat a character to play, a room to dance in and a weapon to use. Having worked with Daniel D Moses (Film Maker, Director and Photographer) since 2006, Annie felt he would be perfect to capture and collaborate with.

The last film day was Saturday Aug 13th and currently the film is being edited.

The premiere of the film will be part of Merce Cirucs, Dance Umbrella at Stratford Circus Oct 1st/2nd. The film was commissioned by East London Dance, with special help from Emma Kerr.

See you then!
